MASTERTOP 1325

Description

A polyurethane based flooring system for commercial and institutional applications.

  • MASTERTOP PRIMER 2 - Is a solvent free, two component, low viscosity epoxy preconditioning coat/primer, which stabilises the prepared substrate; acts as the bonding media for the aggregate key, and isolates subsequent PU coatings from the alkalinity of concrete, which is known to assist degradation of polyurethanes. MASTERTOP PRIMER 2 exhibits a high degree of capillary-pore penetration and will prevent rising damp from reaching subsequent coatings.
  • MASTERTOP BODY COAT 32 - Is a two component solvent free polyurethane. The tough elastic liquid applied floor covering has excellent sound deadening and fatigue reducing properties.
  • MASTERTOP TOP COAT 44P - Is a solvented 2-component polyurethane coating which, when applied to MASTERTOP systems, produces a permanently elastic, wear-resistant surface. It is available with a matt, silk or gloss finish.

Primary uses

As a sound deadening, comfortable system where heavy pedestrian traffic is anticipated i.e. corridors, production areas, hospitals.

Guide to application

Application temperature

The quality of the final coating is dependent on the substrate and the material temperatures. We recommend a substrate temperature of min. +10°C and max. +30°C. The optimal material temperature is +15°C to +25°C.

Surface preparation:

The surface to be coated must be clean and dry, free of laitance, oil, grease or any substance that may impair adhesion.

The preferred methods of preparation are; captive blasting, high pressure water jetting, surface grinding or similar. Weak or damaged concrete must be removed, then replaced with a suitable repair compound from the Emaco or Concresive range of products.

Surface conditioning / priming

The prepared surface must be conditioned to receive the MASTERTOP BODY COAT 32 by the application of MASTERTOP PRIMER 2 surface conditioner / sealer applied at the rate of 0.2-0.3kg/m² depending on the absorption of the concrete substrate.

Mixing:

Pour the B component into the A component and mix until streak free.

Do not mix more primer than can be used within 15 minutes at 25°C. See MASTERTOP PRIMER 2 technical datasheet.

Apply the mixed material by paint roller, brush or airless spray.

Into the wet coating, broadcast SRA No. 1 at the rate of 1.0-1.2kg/m² do not apply to excess, but do not leave bald areas.

Allow to cure for minimum 5 hours with a substrate temperature of 20°C or 3 hours at 30°C.

MASTERTOP BODY COAT 32 application:

Remove loose aggregate by vacuuming cleaning or sweeping. Scrape the edge of a trowel over the surface to remove aggregate that may be too proud of the surface and clean the surface again.

Mixing:

Mix the A and B components of the MASTERTOP BODY COAT 32 together adding 10kg of SRA No. 1 per 30kg unit whilst mixing. Use a slow speed (400 rpm) drill with a spiral mixing head. Work the mixer round the mixing pail to ensure it scrapes the side and bottom of the pail.

Application:

Pour the material onto the floor in pools and spread at the required coverage of 2-3kg of mixed material per m².

Allow to cure overnight.

Top coat / sealer:

MASTERTOP BODY COAT 32 must be sealed with MASTERTOP TOP COAT 44P to improve UV and abrasion resistance.

Application MASTERTOP TOP COAT 44P:

Pour the B component into the A component and mix until a uniform streak free colour is obtained.

Apply by roller or airless spray at 80-120m m w.f.t. per coat.

For light duty applications (pedestrian / rubber wheeled trolleys) apply one coat at 120m m w.f.t. For medium to heavy wear (heavy rubber wheeled and fork lift) situations or when chemical resistance is required, apply two coats of 100-120 microns m² w.f.t. each.

MASTERTOP TOP COAT 44P is normally applied, but not restricted to, elastic MASTERTOP products.
